Kidney Tumors

Renal Cell Carcinomas
A kidney tumor is rare, but mostly malignant. The most common type – 80 to 90 percent – is the so-called clear cell renal cell carcinoma. Tumors of the renal pelvis and ureters, known as urothelial carcinomas, occur far less frequently. Kidney cancer primarily metastasizes to the lungs, bones, distant lymph nodes, or brain.

Therapy Procedure
The treatment is divided into preparation, radiation, and aftercare, and is gentle and patient-friendly.
Preparation
Experienced doctors and physicists transfer the image data to the Cyberknife computer and precisely plan the radiation alignment and dose for tumor treatment.
Radiation
The session lasts approximately 25 minutes. Breaks are possible if needed. Immediately after treatment, the patient can resume daily activities.
Aftercare
The healing process is monitored through regular clinical check-ups and CT or MRI scans. The first follow-up appointment usually takes place 3 to 6 months after treatment.
